The importance of a well-equipped and functional home office cannot be overstated, particularly in today’s evolving work landscape. Recent statistics highlight the significance of having a dedicated workspace within the confines of one’s home. According to a survey conducted by Owl Labs, 74% of remote workers believe that having a well-designed home office positively impacts their productivity.
Another study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine found that employees with remote work options experience 25% lower stress levels compared to those without such flexibility. ‘
If you needed a sign or a push to get things underway, these stats are it! A creative and thoughtful home office provides much more beyond a seat at a desk. It can enable a sense of work-life balance and ultimately reduce burnout.

Whether it’s a full reno or simply a refresh, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Our recent project in Dundas is an excellent example of how elevating your office space can make all the difference.
The owner, a busy professional with odd shifts at work, has multiple uses for this space. His kids wanted to use it while he’s home, he wanted to have more storage space without it looking like a packed garage and he needed some space to sneak a quick nap after returning during the night.
The design process was essential to address these concerns and show the benefits of having a fully finished and planned out personal office space. We designed a space that would improve concentration, enhance mental well-being and give comfort, easing feelings of stress and enabling creativity. Lofty design goal? Not at all!
The client also wanted a seamless approach to project completion, with little involvement, which is our specialty. Electricians, painters, custom cabinet makers and our own team were managed well and the end result was exactly what he wanted. Another satisfied client!
