What a home should be
“There’s no place like home” is perfectly captured in this Burlington, Ontario backyard. Taking the comforts of home from the inside to the outside was the goal in designing the structure and outdoor living room, and the result is a space which is simultaneously fun, safe and comfortable; everything a home should be.
Made in the Shade
Our clients’ backyard already contained a lot of great elements, including the pool and hot tub; but the layout and materials were dated and no longer suited the dynamic of their busy, active family. The afternoon sun was welcome around the pool, but a shade structure was definitely needed.
Multiple Levels
Using the existing grade, we created a multi-level patio, separating dining and lounging areas and providing visual interest. Modern pavers and updated pool coping are balanced with natural stone boulders and steps to create a clean, yet soft aesthetic.
Lounging Areas
The generous pavilion style structure creates an intimate space to lounge by the natural gas fireplace, while catching the game or catching up with friends.
